I loved living in Portland for three years. You will find that the MAX will take you most anywhere you want to go aNd downtown is walkable. Restaurants are supberb and you know about Powell's Bookstore I am sure. We could stay there a week.

Just South of Portland is a childrens
themepark around all the old classic
children's characters. I enjoyed taking
my children and my students there. (Sherwood Forest, I think)

I am hoping to bring my two teaching partners who are poem and children's
literature junkies. Please send more
information.

Enjoy,
Kathy

I'm going to try to come this year--I love seeing all of you! And I'd like to meet some (like Alkelda) who couldn't come last year.

But it all depends on my book schedule. Writing books HAS to come first this year. Hope you all understand!

I'm crossing my fingers that it all works out for you to come to Portland, Robin. If it makes any difference at all....

Please?

Hey, it's the magic word, right? As Mo Willems said, "You may not always get what you want, but it's hard to say no to 'please.'"

Hi Robin! I hope you're coming this year! We'd love to see you. Hope all the writing's coming along well. I read your interview at HipWriterMama, and I had to decide that despite the Tshirts, maybe you ARE a robot. A first draft in two and a half weeks??? ROBOT!! (Just kidding. Just jealous!!)

I'm not even a kidlitosphere junkie, and I had a blast at last year's event; some of the most genuine, friendly, and intelligent people I've ever had the honor of meeting. And I'd love to get back out to Portland (been there a couple of times on business, but never had much time to look around). Gotta see if "MotherReader" and I can head out again this year.

(And hey, I've now had the honor of having not one, but two of my movies scripted by genuine YA authors! We'll have to have a screening this year!)
