Happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful, grateful, blessed, joyful, happy, contented because of

YOU.

Thanks for being my blog friends, all of you. You have made my life richer, you have entertained and taught me, you have cheered me and lifted me up, you have been a welcome group to come home to. Thank you for your time, your kindness, your participation, your clever and charming personalities–

THANKS FOR SHOWING UP AND BEING YOU.

Mush, mush! Schmaltz! I love you! Big hug!!

Hope you’re all doing what you want to be doing today. Take time to be alone and soak it all in. Eat what makes you happy. Be with people who make you laugh. Lie on the floor and unbutton your top button and be grateful you’ve had enough.

ENJOY YOUR LIFE!!

Time for me to roll out the dough for cinnamon rolls. There’s a four-roll minimum in my family, so I have to keep them coming from the moment everyone walks in the door. Usually two before dinner, another one with, and another one or two for dessert. Basically, the turkey is just garnish–all everyone really wants is cinnamon rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, and stuffing. So we shall have it, by golly.

Anyone want to share your menus?

    Mmmm, cinnamon rolls. Sounds heavenly.

It sounds corny enough to say it, but thanks for the blog, Robin. Thank you for being you, for reminding us to read and take care of ourselves.

In my family, it’s all about the corn pudding. We have turkey and rolls and mashed potatoes and stuffing - mmmmm, stuffing - but really, it’s all about the corn pudding. And the chilled pumpkin pie.

  2. Kimmy Says:

    Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

In my family, it’s ALL about the gravy. The turkey and all the other stuff are just details in a big ‘ol gravy day;-)

  3. adrienne Says:

Ah, yes, we are thankful for you too, Robin. :)

Here, we eat a lot, but what we REALLY focus on are the games. This year, it was Twister, my friend’s Wii, and a 1000 piece puzzle. Everyone’s gone, the house is mostly in order, and I am that really happy kind of exhausted. Hope it’s the same there.

    I’m thankful for YOU, too.

    Big hug. :)

Like others, I am thankful for you, Robin. What are we going to do when you’re gone? You’ve agreed to be best friends with so many of us!:)

  6. Dylan Says:

No problem Robin! Thank you for being here to enrich our lives with your experiences! :D ROLLS ROCK! :P Happy Thanksgiving!

  7. Kelley Says:

The number of things I’m thankful for are overwhelming and take my breath away. And yes, you and all my new blog friends are included on that list.

Yesterday, my in-laws drove two hours to our house loaded with a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal so we didn’t have to travel with two little ones. We ate and ate and ate and heaved a great big sigh together. Then we spent time outside watching the kids play in the gorgeous fall leaves blanketing the ground. It was a very blessed day.

Happy Thanksgiving — a bit late!

  9. Mary Lee Says:

I am thankful for the much-needed pause in the stampede of school that Thanksgiving weekend gives.

I am thankful for blogging friends I have and haven’t met (and for you, Robin, who made it possible to meet some of those bloggers!), and for time to get caught up reading blogs.

Like Adrienne our focus is on games as much as food. Most times it is dominoes, but this year we played Sequence.

  10. Lady T Says:

Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone! We had a nice quiet meal at home(decided to just have a turkey breast this year, since we all love white meat and it turned out great)and stayed up til 2 in the morning, watching Deal or No Deal.

Thank you, Alkelda! You’re right–too many BFFs to abandon you totally. I’m just going to drop back to two days a week for a while until I finish all my work.

Lady T, what a decadent night–staying up until 2 AM? Crimeny (sp?)!

Mary Lee, all hail the vacation from school–for everyone. The fall is so nice with all these built-in breaks. And a four-day weekend–too marvelous.

Jules, same to you! Don’t worry about late–Thanksgiving is a four-day event.

Kelley, how entirely generous of your in-laws to come to you–with the food! It’s so thoughtful not to make you travel with the little ones. What a nice day it sounds like you had!

Dylan, thanks for giving me a laugh with ROLLS ROCK! Couldn’t agree with you more.

Whoops, I got so excited by ROLLS ROCK, I accidentally pushed the “submit comment” button too early. Settle down, R.

Thank you, Heather, Adrienne, Kimmy, and Miri.

Adrienne, love to hear about game night! You’re so much fun.

Miri, I confess I’ve never had corn pudding. If it’s really that great, obviously I’ve been missing out.

Kimmy, yeah to gravy. But I still have to go with the rolls.
