The (approx.) Friday List (nice things you’ve done for yourself this week)
Dylan, thanks for reminding me! I had no idea yesterday was Friday! Sorry, guys!
(And Patrick, isn’t it your job to remind me?)
I’m just here for two minutes to grab a bite. Gotta head for the bus now. You guys have at it, please.
Let’s hear all your self-pampering!

Hope you’re doing well, Robin! Writing and otherwise.
This week, after a positively sucky Wednesday (freaked out when I couldn’t concentrate on a quiz, got an inch-long gash on my PS2-controller thumb, nearly burst into tears in drama, etc.), I started going to bed an hour earlier. It meant giving up a TV show or so per night, but man, it made a difference. Life was so much better Thursday and Friday.

Miri, please let’s not see a repeat of your Wednesday–sucky indeed! I’ve tried that extra hour of sleep a night thing, and you’re right–totally changes your life. Good work.
Patrick, LUCKY! Can’t wait to hear all about it.
Dylan, I agree about the acting in Atonement, but I also agree very much that it was too dang depressing. I left there not happy at all. I need happy movies these days.

I didn’t beat myself up for not meeting my writing goal this week and patted myself on theback for what I did accomplish.
And I also bought a new writing desk that is so Zen for me.
Glad you are having a wonderful week!

Heather, I love it when writers treat themselves to the proper equipment. And good job on celebrating what you did write this week instead of punishing yourself for what you didn’t. That attitude will take you all the way to the end of one book and then many more.

Robin,
Thanks for sharing your week in Sundance with us. Always neat to find out what happens. Though I’m curious, did you get to rub elbows with some of the celebrity actors?
My good thing I did this week was apply to my first day writing retreat program. I’ve been getting really good critiques from my group, am polishing things up, and it’s time to go out in the world now.
Plus I went to NH to visit my sister, and that’s always an awesome thing.
Safe trip home!

My best thing happened last night: after the kids zonked out, I kissed the hubbie and headed out to Starbucks, where I read Eat, Pray, Love for 30 minutes while I waited for my best friends to arrive. We stayed there drinking, eating, and chatting until closing. It was exactly what I needed.

Little Willow, Vivian, Kelley, thanks for your lists. You never know what act of yours might inspire someone else to do the same.
