Writing, reading, and other vital matters

The blog and I would like to thank:

–The fabulous BJ from Kickass Web Design, for designing and setting up this beautiful website that makes me happy every time I look at it;

–Annette and Patrick for entertaining us almost daily with their wit and weirdness;

Lady T, Heather Harper, Diana Peterfreund, and Barry Lyga for their regular stop-bys to inform, entertain, and in Heather’s case, occasionally shock;

–Lizzie for her bold opinions on movies, TV, life, people, and politics;

–Herb and BJ for saving themselves for our more serious debates;

–Deborah, MJG, Reader Diane, Carolyn, Michele, Emily, Hannah and others of you for showing up now and then (but not often enough!) to chat with us;

Eisha, Liz B, and Kelly for taking time away from their own reviewing and blogging duties to chime in here every so often;

–any of the rest of you who have ever commented here, but whom I’ve callously and forgetfully left out. Please forgive me if I have;

–and finally, I want to thank everyone out there who secretly reads this and yet feels too shy or busy or whatever the reason is to join in and play with us. The more the merrier, I say, so please feel free to add your voice to ours. The blog likes it when lots of people play. We’re all very casual people here–no dress code, and I actually do my best to correct any typos before they go on the air so no one has to cringe afterward and think, “People will think I don’t know how to spell ‘fenestration’! I’m so embarrassed!” (Hint: you will hardly ever have a good reason for using the word “fenestration.”)

The blog and I both hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, full of overindulgence and overstimulation like every great family event. I will be packing in my mother’s homemade cinnamon rolls all night, then taking my customary trip to the hospital to have my stomach pumped. But I’ll be back here tomorrow, ready to see what’s up with all of you.

Be happy and enjoy yourselves. Eat, Papa, eat!

    happy thanksgiving to you. i’m making a quick stop at my favorite blogs to wish a happy holiday, and yours is one of them…and thanks for visiting our site, too, and contributing. have a peaceful day with lots of pie.

    Thanks, Jules! Everyone, Jules is part of Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast, along with Eisha. Jules, stop by and chat. I like the stuff you and Eisha write, and I’m sure the people here would love to play with you.

    Thank you Robin. It took awhile to remove the spittle from my computer screen after Nov. 7th. The medication seems to be helping with the rage. But I take great enjoyment following all the conversations daily. I wish I had the wit and humor that many of my fellow bloggers have. Well it’s time to check the coals around the Turkey. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

    What are you talking about? I thought November 7 turned out really well!

  5. annette says:

    ahhhh. a wonderful thanksgiving. such yummy food and yummy family too. i slipped out while dishes are being washed and care packages being assembled to say “hi” to the blog. thanks rb for the mention and hope everyone had a sweet, peaceful day.

  6. Deborah says:

    Thanks for the thank you and even though I don’t stop by that often, I always enjoy it when I do and will try to stop by more often-maybe that will be added to my list of New Year’s resolutions, although I still haven’t gotten around to most of this year’s!

  7. Lady T says:

    Thanks for the kudos,Robin and I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving.

  8. Diana says:

    Dude, I have a technorati tag?

    Um, i mean, you’re welcome, Robin…

  9. robin says:

    Yeah, Diana, you have one but I don’t. Just wait . . .

  10. eisha says:

    Aw! Belated thanks to you, Robin. I always enjoy reading your blog, and appreciate the no-dress-code policy.

  11. annette says:

    eisha, it’s not that i don’t welcome you to the blog–but there is a dress code. in fact, a rather strictly enforced (by me) dress code. so please ask rb for my e-mail address and i will be happy to send you some sample photos. (right now for example, i’m wearing armani–with flip-flops–that must have been what robin was referring to in the “no” part of the “no dress code”).

  12. eisha says:

    Uh-oh. That is bad news. I tend to be wearing pajamas when I blog, and/or one of the smart-ass t-shirts I can’t wear to work. If I find some Armani pj’s, will that do?

  13. Aww. Thanks, Robin. You’re sweeter than chocolate. And I love that I’m welcome on your blog, even with my don’t-know-when-to-stop-that-was-too-much-info affliction.

  14. robin says:

    Heather, I have the exact same affliction, which is why you’ll be sitting with me at the party (whatever party that may be).

  15. bj says:

    Sorry I’m late in thanking you for the (or should I say yet another) plug! This past week has been a mostly offline week.
