This is the kind of advice I need

Hey, y’all, how’s it going? Me? After eating about 30 (okay, maybe 14. Or 20) homemade vegan chocolate chip cookies yesterday (just to see if the recipe was any good–you understand), I realized last night as I clutched my stomach in agony and bloating that maybe I’d finally bottomed out. This sugar addiction of mine has been such a recurrent theme for me, and I’m so very tired of it. I realize that while some people may be able to have little bits of sugar now and then without needing all of the sugar in the world, I am not one of those people. So today I am back to my sugar-free ways, and it would feel really good to stay here. I’m also weaning myself off caffeine–day three of that–all while trying to get my revisions done to this book in the next two weeks! Yeah! Insane!

Anyway, my friend Laila sent me this clip yesterday, and clearly this is the kind of professional help I need. Make sure to watch it all the way to the end . . .

I know. I used to watch his shows (especially the original one) religiously. So great!

Brilliant! Just what a hot Friday needs. Thanks for sharing, Robin!

    My pleasure, Elizabeth!

Have you tried cooking with rapapura or succanat instead of sugar? And have you tried the Rapunzel chocolate?

  7. Patrick Says:

This is my brother Darryl and my other brother Darryl.

  8. Alkelda Says:

I have a sugar addiction, too. It’s not a matter of constantly eating it, but when I do eat it, I just crave more, even when I don’t want it.

Alkelda, isn’t that the truth? I totally get the “I just crave more, even when I don’t want it.” It really is a drug. And I love it so. I think rather than try to live without it the rest of my life, my time and efforts would be much better spent just practicing moderation.

    What a concept for me.

Jone, I haven’t tried any of those–are they spectacular? What’s the deal with Rapunzel chocolate? Vegan?

Patrick, you are Darryl. But not the other Darryl.

I don’t understand. You people all speak of “sugar addiction” as if it’s a BAD thing…
