Jules, I did a whole post last year titled, “I would marry Eko.” So you’re preachin’ to the converted here. Can’t believe they killed him, when he was one of the best characters on there. Sure, let Boone and Shannon go–whatever–but leave us Eko, for heaven’s sake. At least he had interesting things to say and a killer (literally) backstory.

Sigh.

Good point.

And what bugged me is — SPOILER COMING UP FOR ANYONE WHO HASN’T SEEN THE FIRST PART OF SEASON 3 — that they had this fascinating character in Eko through whom they explored religious issues and not in an entirely shallow way, and they killed HIM off and bring us Barbie and Ken (as my husband calls them) in Nikki and Paolo?? UGGH.

I miss Eko.

Jules, the Sayid one is priceless. And yes, totally agree about Nikkie and Paolo. They made me SO mad. I do not want to get to know any new characters–especially vapid, pointless, annoying ones like those–when I still feel like I barely know all the characters I love.

Even better was this, especially for what they wrote about Sayid and Nikkie & Paolo. I laughed out loud.
