They’re almost as cute as I am!

Okay, so I think I can guess who everyone is. The only question: why on earth are half of them wearing parkas? They’re vampires…. they don’t need coats, do they?
February 19th, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Nope. None of them look remotely close to what I imagined.
February 19th, 2008 at 1:40 pm
Patrick, when is Hollywood going to finally make a movie of your life? And who can possibly play you?
Melissa, good question–that didn’t occur to me. But I guess they have to look like they fit in, right?
Vivian, me, either, but I do think the guy playing Emmett (I assume that’s the guy with the brown buzz cut) is hot. Nice scenery.
February 19th, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Okay: First? I’m going on record. I’m not reading the next book. I think Edward is a controlling nutjob. I hate the whole Jacob thing. I’m not reading any more Stephanie Meyer. So, I don’t care. I DON’T care. IdontcareIdontcareIdontcare.
BUT.
THEY’RE ALL WRONG.
February 19th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
TadMack, you can try to turn away, but in the end how can you possibly not read the last book? Come on! And you know you’re going to have to see the movie–how can you not?
And wrong or not, don’t you think Carlisle and Emmett are cute?
February 19th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
I actually think they did an amazingly close job to what I pictured in my head. That’s a first.
Granted, I have only read the first book.
February 19th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
I’m sorry, but I lost interest in Twilight about halfway through. It just wasn’t moving fast enough. I’ll come back to it eventually… maybe. I have so much to read!
February 19th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Does Edward look a little… evil/starving in that last picture? I imagined Edward a little more… handsome.
Also, does it seem odd to anyone that all the brunettes have the exact same shade of brown and same with the blonds?
Dr. Cullen looks just like I imagined…
I really don’t like the guy in the white parka and blond hair… creepy.
Erin, I haven’t read Eclipse yet, so you’re not alone.

They look lovely, and I can definitely tell who’s supposed to be who, but am I the only one who sees that first picture and goes, “But don’t kill Cedric!”
I’m going to have to get over that.
February 19th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
I know what you mean, Miri. That was so sad. Plus I kind of think he was cuter when he was younger–but I have faith in makeup. Plus it wouldn’t hurt him to gain a little weight, round out those cheeks.
But really, who am I to nitpick?
February 19th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
They are indeed a sexy group.
February 19th, 2008 at 8:11 pm
I never have liked it when they turn books into movies because they get the characters wrong. I mean really none of them look right. Expesially Edward. He is so not hot enough. I mean really. They need to find hotter acters. Like Chris Evens. He is so hot.
February 19th, 2008 at 8:20 pm
Carli, you made me curious, so I looked up Chris Evans. http://imdb.com/media/rm824155392/nm0262635
You’re not kidding, he’s hot! But don’t you think he’s too old to play a 17-year-old? Plus it seems like no matter who they cast in all those roles, we’d all be “That’s not how I pictured them!”
Molly, who’s your fav? Like I said, I’m all for Emmett.
February 19th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
OMGOMGOMG! I’ve been fawning oover it all day!!!!! do you like them? I’m a little concerned XD but trying to be open minded about a few of them the rest I think will do fairly good!
February 19th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
BTW Felicity was right! Rob looks weired like his facial expressions in every one! O_O and not quite pretty enough… =/
February 19th, 2008 at 9:31 pm
Tadmack, I agree with you on every point except one: I am going to read the next book.
I’m seriously icked out by the thought of finding any of these people in the cast attractive. For crying’ out loud, they have no wrinkles! I’d like to see vampires who look impossibly young yet ancient nonetheless. I’d like to see the casting directors get Jacob right. I hear they’re looking for a newbie, and the pleasingly handsome Adam Beach is getting on in years. He’s 35! (So am I.)

So, to start a tangential thread, based on Robin’s question about who’s going to play Patrick in the movie of his life, who would you all choose to play yourselves and each other in KIDLITOSPHERE: THE MOVIE?
February 19th, 2008 at 11:24 pm
I think Amanda Bynes could play me, but only if she can do -
THIS!
*shakes perfect booty seductively*
And of course, James Earl Jones would do my voice over.
Either Amanda or Matt Damon.
Patrick Stewart could portray my ethereal soul.

Alice is like, astounding. She’s perfect, I think.
Edward is pretty hot, but in this promo shots, he kinda looks like a dick. Not literally.
And Peter Facinelli (of Can’t Hardly Wait fame) is one hot doctor.
February 20th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
I’m so glad Carli also thinks this group just looks all wrong. And I looked up Chris Evans, and whoa. Yes, he would make a fine Edward.
February 20th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
I am in love with Peter Facinelli. He is Dr. Cullen.
February 20th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
Alkelda, I’ll play that game. Who would I like to play me in KIDLITOSPHERE: THE MOVIE? My hero Meryl Streep of course, since I spend so much time trying to be her (in River Wild, specifically). I can also see parts for Janeane Garofalo, Tina Fey, various other Saturday Night Live alumni–and of course Denzel Washington as Patrick. No, P, I don’t see Amanda Bynes as you. She’s too . . . perky. You need some gravitas. Denzel can handle that.
February 20th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
I have also only read the first one, but they are pretty much as I pictured.
Cedric is hot.
February 21st, 2008 at 10:12 pm
Robin: Meryl Streep works! I’ll have Thora Birch play me, though she’ll have to play someone 10 years older in most of the scenes.

So, “Alice” looks exactly like I thought, and everyone else is pretty close…but why change the names? I hate when the screenwriters do that when they’re adapting a book. It’s not that hard to use the actual names from the book.
February 23rd, 2008 at 12:04 pm
What names did they change? I don’t know anything about that. Reveal.
