Don’t care for the extra people

Galleys are off to New York, a shower has been had, the flannel robe was worn, the Lost tape was watched.

(Annette, look away. Lost details here.)

Who on earth are those extra people? Do we care about them? No. They are merely annoyances. Given a few lines, given what passes for personalities, but all I kept thinking is they’ll serve the same function as the extra crew members on the old Star Trek. They beam down with Kirk and Spock and Bones just so someone we don’t care about will be turned into a lifeless cube.

I don’t mean to be critical, because you know I love the show, but I resent having to meet new people who aren’t Others or Desmond or players in any of the main characters’ back stories. I just can’t care about anyone else at this point.

BUT I did love Juliet’s little maneuver of playing that tape for Jack. High intrigue, people!

And let us not speak of Eko. Still trying to process that. You know how I feel about him.

Anyone else have any feelings about the new people?

HATE the new people. But given how willing the producers have been to kill off characters, I hope that the newbies are just being introduced to serve as cannon fodder.

    RIP Eko.

Has anyone else counted more tattoos on Jack’s arms since last season? Come on, if the writers want us to live and breathe the island mysteries, please don’t let the actors add ‘ink’ in their non-working season. Yeh, maybe I get caught in the details—-so?

Are you serious? I haven’t noticed that at all–now I’m going to pay attention.

And there’s no such thing as being too caught up in the details. This is important stuff.
