Nancy, I agree–those commercials are killers. Now if I could just make people cry that easily with my books . . .

The Hallmark one made me SO mad.

1. My mother watched it with me, and about 40 minutes in, turned to me and explained the entire story, including the end.

2. I expected a Hallmark sappy Christmas movie, and it turned out to be a Hallmark sappy Labor Day movie. What was up with that? (Granted, they never advertised it as Christmas fare, but the candles made me expect it.)

3. I didn’t see enough development of her relationship with the town to justify the whole candle/picnic scene. I was not buying it.

4. Despite all of this, I still ended up crying for the last 10 minutes of the movie. Plus during every single commercial break.

My cable company doesn’t offer The Hallmark Channel. I may have to move or get a satellite dish.

Oh yeah–Hallmark is a killer. I still can’t even think about “To Dance with the White Dog”–just mop me off the floor.

What about the Hallmark Company? For the umpteenth time over many years I allowed myself to watch the latest Hallmark special on TV last night. They always kill me. The commercials are just as heartwrenching as the movie itself. I started crying at the first commercial break and didn’t stop until the end of the movie. I don’t know why I do it to myself. The next one is on Jan. 28th. I can’t wait.
