The opposite of The Princess Bride
Thanks to all of you who wrote in, proving the enduring excellence that is The Princess Bride. Line after quotable line, that movie does it. We are better people for it.
Which, of course, draws me to the opposite. I know we can’t all agree on the worst movie we’ve ever seen–there are far too many to choose from. But I’d like to start our master list.
I’ll go first:
1. Howard the Duck
Technorati Tags: The Princess Bride, William Goldman, Movies, Worst Movie

I’ve walked out of two movie theaters before the movie was over.
Strange Days
The Trigger Effect

The Blair Witch Project.
Absolutely awful.
And I love B movies. Bad ones.

The Bear
Mr. Wrong
Nightmare Before Christmas (I know, everyone loves it, but I can’t stand it!)
Baby’s Day Out
anything Ron Howard’s made in the past decade
Bean
Anger Management
Howard’s End
Save the Last Dance
Plan 9 From Outter Space (it’s not even do bad it’s funny, it’s just SO BAD)
Meet the Parents
Car 54, Where Are You?
Seabiscuit
Rush Hour 2
Blast from the Past
and the one everyone will hate me for…
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Meet the Parents: Robert DeNiro overacts while Ben Stiller plays the guy who tries too hard to be liked, and is repeatedly victimized in turn. Not to mention it’s an hour and a half high quality film version of America’s Funniest Home videos.
Seabiscuit: One of the most manipulative movies I’ve ever seen, and if there’s one thing I hate, it’s when a movie tries to force me to feel.
Be Cool: Bad enough that I didn’t care, not bad enough that I hated it, despite Get Shorty being one of my all-time favorites.
