Not that kind of girl

I blame my niece for turning me on to AOL Music. Now I have yet another distraction to turn to whenever I want to avoid that tricky scene that I still can’t figure out how to fix. But the truth is, I think I’ve been a little too music-deprived these past few years. So maybe it’s okay that I’m just now getting around to this. Which I’ve already watched way too many times to mention. Not because I think he’s hot or anything. *cough*

But the thing I really want to thank my niece for is introducing me to JoJo. I love what a strong teenage girl role model she is. Check out the lyrics of this song. Don’t you just love it? And what about this one?

And while we’re on strong female role models, how about this one? Go, Pink.

I thought I was the only person over the age of 16 who liked JoJo. Maybe because she went platinum when she was 14? Did a mall tour like Tiffany? Has accomplished more at 17 than I can hope to in my whole life? Whatever. Her voice is awesome.

Did you know she’s going to be in the film adaptation of True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet (YA book by Lola Douglas)?

Molly, thanks for chiming in. I really did wonder if I was going to be alone on this. Isn’t JoJo impressive? Love it when people know early on what they want to do with their lives, and they go for it right then. I’m sure she has supportive parents, otherwise I doubt that could happen, but still the drive has to come from her.

And I didn’t know that about her being in the film. Cool! Thanks for the info.

I like jojo’s music, and I liked her performance in Aquamarine, but I have a lot of reservations about a 14 year old singing some of the songs she sings. I think they are R rated.

  4. robin Says:

Really, Diana? The ones I’ve seen look really positive and not R rated at all. What am I missing?

  5. Patrick Says:

    And baby if we do
Ooh i’ll be givin all my love to you
Ohh — Do you know how to touch a girl?

Nothing, Robin. Nothing at all. It’s very suite and innocent.

  6. robin Says:

She means “touch” as in touch her heart, perv.

  7. Patrick Says:

That’s what I think, too. I think Diana must be the perv.

  8. Dylan Says:

LOL (as to the whole “touch” and Patrick being a perv. thing XD) and AW I LOVE JoJo and Pink! They are good role models! :D I’ve never heard of AOL Music but I wil have to check it out! :P

If you think AOL music is addicting you should try Pandora. That takes it to an entirely new level :)
