Also, Vivian and Kelly, let me please remind you that ASKING for a day to yourself as your Mother's Day present qualifies as something to report on Friday as the nice thing you've done for yourself this week.

Just a hint.

The kids always go with hubby to pick out flowers for me. I don't know why hubby allows it because inveritably in a couple of days, he starts complaining about how he's allergic the flowers and he throws them out.

The girls draw awesome pictures for me, which I love to frame and hang up on the walls. One of these days, I'll post some up on my blog now that I figured out how to load pictures on it.

I'm with Kelly on the time to myself. I crave it. Forget the breakfast in bed, the dinner at a restaurant, any presents...I want a day to myself where I can just do whatever I feel like doing -- no phone calls for rescuing -- and just be.

I also send my mom the expensive creams she wouldn't buy for herself. That is the one thing my mom has always cherished for as long as I can remember. So I love finding luscious face and eye creams for my mom. Sephora.com is great for this.

I think saying, "Thanks for helping me be born, I really appreciate it" is a pretty great one. I'll add that to my phone call.

Hmm, curious what you did for your mom this year . . .

Mother's Day was never a big deal in my house. I call my mom and grandmas and say 'hey, thanks for helping me be born, I really appreciate it, love you lots!' Sometimes I'll send a card or a plant or something to my grandmas (flowers die quickly, and are therefore uncool).
It's basically the same for Father's Day.
They just never seemed to be gift-giving holidays to me.

That said, I did actually do something (small) for my mom this year, but I'm not gonna say what it is cause there's a good chance she reads the blog. HI MOM!!!
