Let’s give ourselves more time on TTW

Maybe you, like me, have realized that The Time Traveler’s Wife is a long book. And maybe you, like me, have been busy this week, and haven’t gotten to sit down and read as much as you meant to. And maybe you, too, have been thinking, “This whole reading/book club thing is supposed to be fun, right? So why do I have to feel so stressed?”

Good news, Reader, you don’t. Sorry to all of you who have already read the book and are waiting for our discussion of it next Tuesday, but I need more time. I’m really loving the novel and want to savor it–not feel like I have to sprint through it just to meet my deadline.

So I am hereby declaring this a two-week book, and delaying our discussion to Tuesday, February 6. Hope that helps some of you. I know it will help me!

Feb 6 is fine with me;TTW is really not a book to be speed read. It’s one of those absorbing stories that make you linger over the words.

We can still comment on other books Tuesday, right?

  2. robin Says:

Yep, we’ll still have our usual Tuesday check-in.

And if any of you are well on your way to finishing Time Traveler’s Wife, don’t let me hold you back. Read it and go on to your next book. I just don’t want to discuss it until Feb. 6, but read on!

It’s okay, Robin! It was such a book and you should take your time and enjoy it!

I’m rushing through all my required reading books now. Wow! I have zero time for fun books =( At least the books for my class are pretty good!

How’s your trip? I hope you’re enjoying yourself!

    Annette, yes, smarty.

Christen, I forgot you were on that marathon read already. Good luck! (And yes, I’m having a wonderful time at Sundance. My brain is mush right now.)
