Heather, THANK YOU for taking down your Christmas tree! That's been such a disturbance in the Force! Many, many of us feel SO much better now.

Patrick, can't you take over my Tuesday and Friday posts? You read books and do nice things for yourself, right? I hereby transfer those posts to you (or actually, to any of you who would like them). I'm enjoying my time away, totally immersed in Fictionland. I don't know when I'll be ready to talk about real life again (except for the emergency post I just put up--apparently I'm not totally immune).

Alkelda, thanks for the spring reminder. Happy Spring to all of you!

My word verification was "season".

Which reminds me...I've been meaning to tell you that the tree and all holiday house decor are out of sight and packed away.

I thought you would like to know. ;)

Robin,
I know you're busy writing, but the tulip festival starts today and lasts a month. Come enjoy tulips, walk in the mud, fly kites and attend the salmon bake!

Patrick, it's basically a woman's travel journal, but it is also a description of the spiritual journey on which she embarked for a year. She spent four months at each spot--Italy (eat), India (pray), and Indonesia (love). At the first she focused on pleasure, at the second on meditation and turning inward, and at the third on reaching out. Her writing is humorous and probably borderline egocentric, but so far I've enjoyed the reading. It's opened some topics I've not considered in my sheltered Bible Belt world, such as meditation and a more generalized faith.

Ok... What IS Eat, Pray, Love? Is it fiction or non-fiction or fictional recreation of a memoir or what?

Kelley, how very special that your little one is a bottomless phlegm pit! You must be so proud! And what is it with little kids not understanding how to blow out? So cute, and yet . . . not.

The side discussions about book club are making me yearn for it so badly! I may give in! Just on Tuesdays! But let me stay away one more solid week at least. I really need the time.

Vivian, I'll take that advice. Thanks so much.

Heather, sorry to hear that! I've been enjoying the sore throat, too. Booooooo. Hope you feel better soon. Both of us!
