What happens when the things you really love about the holidays and the things that really annoy you end up being the same thing? E.G., I hate Christmas songs, because they get stuck in my head, and one little part my head and repeats endlessly ("Christmas is over..."). Plus, I don't know all of the words to those songs so I can even finish singing them to myself in a vain attempt to purge my brain of them. However, Christmas songs are simultaneously the very thing that makes me feel like it's really the holidays, and I'm really happy and having fun my my family. They remind me, and bring me into the spirit. I hate them desperately, but they are what sets the mood for me. Ack!?

THAT'S what your new book needs -- a dragon! Silly me. It was on the tip of my tongue this whole time and I couldn't articulate it until you mentioned Eragon.

Trust me -- a dragon. Kids love dragons.

I feel a special kinship with Eragon, because my editor is also that book's editor. I think that makes Christopher Paolini and me half-sibling authors. By adoption.

Happy holidays,Robin and glad to hear that you're going to have a homemade cinnamon roll(they don't come around every day so they should be cherished). I'm glad to share my thoughts with you and your merry band of readers;it's like talking with friends around the water cooler or coffee counter:)

Oh,and let us know what you think of Eragon! I read the first book and liked it(no Harry Potter but a decent read)but not sure about the movie.
