An excellent post on luck and other writing myths
Someone directed my attention to this great post by author Ally Carter. I’m pretty sure I agree with all eleven of her points.
Read and absorb and see what you think.

i agree with her Vampires are ruling the world thing, vampires have always been ruling my world.
but number 6 made me a little sad, thinking that kids dont read, im only 14 and i still read a lot, in fact i read too much.
they all seem helpful, although im not going to be ready to publish for a while, i dont think im even half done with my book. But they are still good things to keep in mind when i do publish.
Keep in mind, Carli, that Ally is saying “kids don’t read” is a myth. Looks like you and I both agree!
Popping in just long enough to say: Carli, there’s no such things as reading “too much.”
You go, girl.
Great advice, and put in bite-size pieces just the way I like it. Thanks for pointing it out.
Barry, WORD.
Mother Reader, I hope this is your year for writing your fingers off!
I mean, in a good, non-gross way.
