Nothing like a good old-fashioned family medical emergency to throw your schedule out of whack for a while. My sturdy, remarkable father-in-law had a minor stroke a few days before his 90th birthday last month (his first ever serious medical problem–see what I mean about sturdy?), and everything was all a tither for a while, but now he’s doing incredibly well, and my life of make-believe can return to normal.
So I apologize to those of you who got to the end of INTO THE PARALLEL, the first book in my new series, and saw the happy news that book 2, CAUGHT IN THE PARALLEL, would be arriving August 25. Sorry, no longer true. But it is coming promptly, even though I can’t give you an exact date. But soon. Really soon.
Until then, feast your eyes on the beautiful cover done by artist Claudia McKinney of phatpuppyart.com and cover designer Robin Ludwig. Don’t you love people who excel at the visual arts–especially when you lack that talent yourself? (At least I do.)
I’ll keep you posted about the pub date. Now, back to work!

I’m so glad that he’s doing well! Family medical issues can be so scary.
Can’t wait for the 2nd book to come out. =)
Thank you, Ashley! Very kind of you.
Love your cover. Got to get to reading the first (good timing on my part so that I can go straight to book 2 when I finish). I hope father-in-law is doing well.
Thank you, Kelley–both for the well wishes to my f-i-l, and for the compliment to my cover! I agree, I really love it. Like I said, I have huge admiration for people with art skills!
I haven’t read your first book of this series yet, but it seems so interesting! (: My library has one cover, and a boy who is OBSESSED with your books always gets there before me, grr! I’m sorry about your father-in-law, but I’m sure he’ll get better. (: Great cover, by the way. I’m very excited, because you’re coming to our school in the beginning of October in Garland! (:
Hi, Linh. I’m so excited to come to Garland! Thanks for your enthusiasm about the book, the cover, my visit–all of it!
See you and everyone else there soon!
Hi, it’s Linh again! (: I just finished Into the Parallel (could you have picked a better cliff-hanger?) and I’m onto Doggirl now, just as amazing as the other three. Please keep it up! I can’t wait for you to write more books! I think I’m obsessed. (:
Thank you, Linh! It’s comments like yours that motivate me to write each day!
