I read this via Facebook, Robin, and was utterly moved. Every author should use this method of writing. There would be far less bad fiction in the world that way.

  2. Kelley says:

Robin, I just adore you! I hope you know that. I can’t tell you how grateful I am that you take these issues seriously, that you are willing to share so much of your own experiences through your fictional characters, and that you put yourself wholeheartedly into your work, actually going through what your characters go through. That’s beyond cool. Thanks for the blog link. I hope hundreds of teen girls (and guys!) read it and grab both of your books. They’ll be changed for the better if they do.

Elizabeth and Kelley, you can’t believe how nice it is to hear what you both said. Believe me, there was a long stretch of time this morning when I was thinking, “Oh my gosh, what have I done?” Somehow when I wrote that essay weeks ago I didn’t realize how exposed I might feel seeing it in print!

So thank you for your support. You probably didn’t know I needed it today!

Robin, You are just beautiful. I hope you know. Also, I CANNOT WAIT TO READ THIS BOOK

  5. robin says:

    Adrienne, xxooxxoo.

And I can’t wait for you to read the book, either! Mostly I want to know what you think of the food in there, because, you know, that’s how we are.

Fat Cat is a beautiful book and your blog post was beautiful too. Thank you for what you do.

  7. robin says:

Sara, thank you so much. That means a lot to me!

  8. Angelique says:

I love that you are a human, real woman in more ways than a few. Thank you for sharing that part of your life with all of us. It and you are inspiring.

    ponies and kisses

    I admire your honesty.

I am not sure I could relive the awesomeness of the high school me and put it on display for everyone to see.

I mean, in high school, I was awesome. Really awesome. I’ve struggled with my awesomeness ever since. I bounce from super awesome to just regular old awesome all the time.

And it’s genetic. My boy is already awesome.

  10. Lovely article, Robin. :)

    Can’t wait to read FC.

And I just got an idea for my Nano book! Cool (vegetarian) beans, huh?

  11. Gellie says:

    very moving blogpost robin :)

I guess writing FAT CAT(trully awesome!) is a good way for you to relieve youself with all the burden you may be carrying inside.

You’re a very strong person and I really admire you for that ^_^

  12. robin says:

Patrick, we all know that it’s easy to be flawed, but so much more difficult to be perfect, like you. That must have been very hard for you in high school. I hope Oliver has an easier time being awesome. Poor boy.

Heather, that’s great that you have your NaNoWriMo book idea! Go to it!

Gellie, thank you for your comment, and for that e-mail you sent me this morning! I really love what you wrote!

  13. Liz in Ink says:

I don’t know why I just finally got around to reading this, but wow. You are so brave and straight-up. I’m proud to know you (I mean, you know what I mean…) and also totally inspired by you. To kick the rest of the crap out of my diet but also to be this honest…

  14. Katie Sis says:

Robin, I just wanted to thank you for the book and t-shirt. Thanks for the nice note in the book too! I can’t wait to read it!
