Thanks, Vivian! Jules and Eisha asked some great questions. They made the whole thing easy.

I'm sure Joel has forgiven you any geekery. Or else he tells that story at parties.

The trick with the F word is to use it sparingly so when it DOES come out of your mouth (loudly and like the expletive it's meant to be) it has maximum shock value. Like when I said it in front of Joel Gray before I knew he was standing there, and before I realized who that very familiar looking guy was . . . at which point my mouth dropped open and I did a very credible impersonation of a f-ing idiot.

BBYA??? Oh how COOL! Congrats!

No, you don't need to quit. Sometimes that is the ONLY WORD which will do. Period.

Deborah, I see I need to clarify about scabs: picking scabs = not good. Having scabs = not good. What we want is to avoid scabs forming by keeping wounds covered with bandages so dirt and air and other healing inhibitors don't get to it.

If you do get a scab, the nice thing to do for your body is soak a washcloth in hot, hot water, then lay it on the scab to soften it (don't scrub). When the cloth gets cool, dump it again in hot water.

The deal with scabs is they become scar tissue. And while your kids may think it's cool to have all those battle injuries, you might want to stop the scar count at, oh, twenty (if my nephew is any indication).

And I hate to tell you, but you're fired as my Cussers' Anonymous sponsor.

Because of course I agree with you. But I still need to quit. Don't I?

Ok, I've just read ALL the blog notes for the last few days-I've had kids with stomach flu, so you can imagine how out of the real(?) world loop I am. What a great interview!! And that puppy face! It was the first time I've seen that site also and thought it cool too. I found the info about scabs very useful and now will let my kids pick to their hearts content. Please don't give up the ef word-it is a tremendously useful, even essential, word for daily life. I couldn't get through most days without it, in fact, some days, it's about all I say...

Hmmm... Getting 'please install PHP' errors. Not sure if this is a multiple post now. I fix the internet by clicking back send back send back send until it works. So if this suddenly has 142 posts, I fixed it. You're welcome.

Yes! Jules mentions me and you don't! As I said. I'm ok, this time.

Next time think of this:
If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

"If you put a good word in for me with Patrick, The Space Lord, I'll let you in. Otherwise, remember what you did in third grade? I'm gonna have to say no. Rules are rules -- unless you know Patrick."

Yes, come and chat and play at 7-Imp any time. If you're talking about the interview series, we're interviewing bloggers (and now some authors).

Yes, mentioning Patrick was my evil doing. I always look forward to his comments; they made me laugh and snort milk outta my nose and such. I need to actually go visit his site, but, well, I have no excuses -- except that I have two young children who, by the end of the day, have sucked all energy out of me. And sometimes life. They're really vampire children. Night Children. They're . . . oh this isn't funny. I'm gonna shut up now.

Seriously, though, my almost three-year-old has learned to do an Evil Laugh ("mwahahahahahahaha"), and it's quite amusing.

One day I'll actually visit the Space Lord's site and see who he really is.

Oh my goodness, yes, everyone is welcome. We're just a couple of librarians, and we basically just talk about books a lot, and sometimes interview bloggers or authors. No pressure, nothing fancy, just geeky, snarky goodness.
