Off to write some romance
I love romance novels. Love to read them, love to write them. I wrote two a few years ago, and even though they haven’t been published yet, that’s not stopping me from writing a new one now. I just feel like telling myself a romantic story. So why not?
So here I am, taking my own advice, and starting today I’m going to sit down and write it straight through, then let it rest for a week or so, go back and edit, and then send it to my agent to see what she thinks. And then when that story is out of my system, I’ll buckle down and do some revisions to my next YA, which I’ve already written (I’ve been busy this year!), and then I’ll send that out. And then I’ll take a little break, and then I’ll start my next book. Because that’s how it’s done, and it’s such a privilege and a pleasure to have this be my job, why wouldn’t I want to do it all the time?
So my attendance here will be spotty for the next however many weeks, but just know it’s because my mind is deep in the throes of a love story. Siiiiiigh . . .

You go girl!
(I’m in the process of taking your advice, too.)

And this is why I am in awe of you. Go for it! BTW, I love your advice.

I’ve reached maximum procrastination. I must write.

It makes my day to think that someday in the (hopefully near) future there will be more titles to add to the Holy Library of St. Brande.

Oh, my gosh, Elizabeth, talk about some pressure! You crack me up.
Patrick, WRITE. YOUR. BOOK. NOW. If I can work on three novels and a screenplay this year, you can move into a new house AND work on one novel. Don’t make me hunt you down and paste your butt to the chair.
Dylan, I’m with you on the girly sigh! Glad to know I’m not the only one who loves a good love story.
Vivian, I know you’re working hard! Keep going!
Heather, high five. Excellent. Can’t wait to hear about your progress.
Okay, now back to my own work!

Hey. HEY! Settle!!!
I slapped down 5 pages last night…

Okay, then. Five pages is infinitely better than no pages. Congratulations! Now do five more tonight! (That’s right, the nagging never ends.)

I love romance books to. I actually write some but none of them are published. Write that book and get it published so i can read it!!

Robin… wow, you are kicking butt this year! Even if I put myself in a chocolate/expresso/red bull induced haze of productivity, I’m not sure I could bang out three books in a year. Good luck!!
By the way, why is it that the anti-spam word frequently looks like it was written by a psychopath? Very disturbing!!

Carli, a girl after my own heart! I’m working hard–I’ll finish as soon as I can!
John, sometimes it just feels so good to work this hard. Last year I barely wrote a word (other than on this blog) because I was traveling so much. When I got to the end of the year and realized I hadn’t written a new novel yet, I was very, very sad. So this year I’ve been making up for it.

Oh your totally not!
Isn’t it funnny though how so many people love them? Like it could be the same story but there’s something bout it people just want over and over again and they can’t get enough of it! I just think it’s so cool that their so longlived!
