I’m just glad its finally over, it started to get on my nerves, actually it got on my nerves as soon as it started. Maybe I would feel different if I was old enough to vote.
Thinking…thinking…
No it wouldn’t
Carli, it didn’t really get on my nerves until the end, when it was all so hateful. I just don’t want to be bombarded with that every day. So I can see how annoying it would be to someone who doesn’t even get to vote yet!
I’m so excited that Obama won! I just happen to be around a lot of McCain people, and some of the things they’re saying are getting on my nerves. One of my good friends told me to wear black yesterday to mourn the death of our country. I have never before wanted to live in another state, but I’m feeling rather lonely here in Georgia.
Katie Sis: For crying out loud! Did it not occur to your friends that maybe you’ve felt that way for the past eight years? I just want the people who claimed that criticizing the president (i.e. George W.) was anti-patriotic to remember their own words.
I felt so great on Tuesday night, but now I’m exhausted.
I am happy for the Obama supporters, as this was a truly historic election (I’ll even forgive the excessive celebration… it’s as if he won the World Series or something!). However, I also think it is important to be realistic. Expectations for change are so high… he will never deliver on everything. I think his first order of business is to drastically reduce the expectations of the American people.
That said, I think that despite his foibles, Obama is a pretty smart guy. I’ll be rooting for him…
As with any election, the person who won this is a human being. During the campaign, he said and promoted what he hoped would garner the most votes. As a human man, there is no way he can live up to every single thing he promised–no president has been able to do so in the past. However, he’s going to try his darndest! At least, I hope so.
Vivian, since I never see my anti-spam words, it cracks me up when you guys report them. Fear not–”rent” must refer to the musical.
Patrick, “Dan” refers to your invisible twin. The anti-spam program is on to you.
Katie Sis, “mourn for our country”?? That’s terrible! And just the opposite of how so many of us feel! Just goes to remind us that not everybody thinks alike. It sounds obvious, but it really is hard to remember sometimes. I completely could not comprehend a certain someone’s re-election–kept asking myself, “Who are these people who voted that way?” But we don’t all have the same view of what this country needs. Obviously.
Alkelda, what you said to Katie. WORD.
Heather, don’t you remember the musical “Toast”? Work with me here.
John, I agree, he is a smart guy. I also agree with both you and Kelley that is just a human, and can only do what he can do. But I have high, high hopes, in part because I really feel he is a man of peace. It’s time for that.
Kelley, thanks for posting those photos! Love to see the backstage stuff. How do people keep from throwing up while they wait for something that huge??

I watched the whole election and never once saw the 800 number to call after the show…

Why am I suddenly nervous that my anti-spam word is RENT?
I was glued to the tv last night. Loved Obama’s speech.

You are concerned? I keep getting DAN. What’s that supposed to mean?

My spam word is toast. Does this mean I’m toast? Sounds like a threat infringing on my giddy hope hangover.
