Tough love for whiners
I can think of a lot of ways to adapt this list for writers, too. (Just because you wrote a book and your mother and best friend love it, doesn’t mean you’re entitled to get it published. Etc.)
You either agree with this guy or you don’t.
I do. In fact, I think I might heart him.
Thanks, Barry, for the link.

Great link and great advice-I hope it gets to the right ears. Robin, good idea to adapt this to writers-I just got my 17th rejection in the mail and there was a hint of a whine forming-this link stopped me. I’m going to save that whine for something really deserving of it.

Sorry about the rejection, but good for you sucking it up and moving on. That’s how it’s done.

Oddly enough, I did a version of this on my blog today (although this was the first I’d read this post.)

Kristen, I just read your blog, and I love what you wrote! You’re my kind of writer!
