While I’m busy . . .
Bit of a time crunch here, friends. My previously self-imposed deadline to turn in my new manuscript has now become an editor- and agent-imposed deadline (or let’s just say “preference,” which I’m hearing as “deadline”). So all that leisurely, I’m-taking-the-summer-off kind of attitude is officially out the window for the next week or so.
But I know you need some entertainment, so let me direct you to these:
–A wonderful (and rare) television interview J.K. Rowling gave recently, as brought to our attention by Lady T
–Meg Cabot on why she might not be cut out for farm life;
–Katie Alender alerts us to a website where you can list your weird, misguided, often hilariously wrong childhood beliefs. Log on and expose your tender little childhood self;
–Sara Lewis Holmes is curious what book/literacy/youth-related causes her fellow kidlit bloggers (and readers) support. Head over there to add to her list and give us all some ideas of good deeds we can do;
–And finally, this lovely 30-second spot on naughty chocolate (thank you, Michelle!).
That ought to hold you for now. Plus I can’t use up all my blogroll now, just in case I need to hand you off again in the near future so I can get my work done.
Enjoy your day. I’m (happily) off to work.

Go to it and write away! And remember to think about the big picture and take necessary breaks to eat, sleep and pee. All essential things to keep the brain functioning properly for manuscript development.

Thank you, Vivian! And I’m supposed to breathe, right?

Ewe can do it.

Does that make it a preferline or a deaderence? The first sounds like a chosen cookie, the second a morbid, militant stance. Maybe if you EAT a cookie while saluting . . .
*hands you some cloud cake from Owlboy - cake that’s light and airy, literally!*

Definitely breathe!

Heather, thank ewe!
Little Willow, what is cloud cake? I want some! Unless the “light and airy” part means it’s imaginary.
And I prefer “preferline.” Doesn’t sound as ominous as “deaderence.”
Nancy, thanks!

You have to read the books to find out! They also have ghost juice, poltergeist potion, and more. (Tom does like food in his fiction!) Very imaginative.
