Why writers need to keep learning
Excellent new post by my teacher Dean Wesley Smith. If you really want to blow your mind, go back and read all the posts in the series–and especially read the discussions that take place in the comments to those posts. I agree entirely with Dean that as writers we need to continue educating ourselves on both the craft of writing and the business side of publishing. If you aspire to be a professional writer–or already are one, and aspire to continue your writing career for a long, long time–it’s worth your time now to read through all those posts and bring a fresh brain to the topics Dean and his commenters analyze. It’s like taking a Master’s Class without leaving home.
