About Robin
(Hut-to-hut hiking in the Alps, September, 2009. Gorgeous scenery, hard hiking–perfection. Days since last shower/hair wash? Not saying.)
Robin Brande is a novelist and former trial attorney. Her young adult novel Evolution, Me, and Other Freaks of Nature was published by Knopf/Random House in August, 2007. Her new young adult novel Fat Cat was published October, 2009.
A true believer in multi-tasking, she is or has been various combinations of the following: lawyer, yoga instructor, entrepreneur, community college instructor, Wilderness First Responder, insurance agent, outdoor adventurer, and Girl Scout leader.
She made her Broadway debut a few years ago in the musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. This is not a joke. She was one of the spelling bee contestants, knocked out by kumiss: a fermented beverage made originally by the nomadic peoples of central Asia from mare’s milk. Right. Like anyone would know that.
Robin lives in the impossibly hot Southwest with her husband and Labrador.
She is represented by Laura Rennert of Andrea Brown Literary Agency, Taryn Fagerness of the Taryn Fagerness Agency (foreign rights), and Eric Reid of William Morris Endeavor Agency (film rights).
